10. Cupnoodles Museum

Cupnoodles Museum is known to be a place where you can design your own cup noodles (My Cupnoodles Factory). It’s not only fun for kids but also for adults as well. I actually had fun drawing on the cup and customizing my toppings and soup! They also have ‘Chicken Ramen Factory’ where you can experience the entire process of making Chicken Ramen. In order for you to experience all these cool activities, you need to get a ticket. It gets super busy on weekends and holidays so I recommend booking online a few week in advance.

You’ve seen the iconic giant ferris wheel of Yokohama in pictures? That’s where Cosmo World is.

Cosmo World is an amusement park in Minato Mirai area. Unlike the major amusement parks, there is no entrance fee. You pay for each rides, so you don’t have to spend all day like Disneyland. Cosmo World has 3 zones based on age appropriateness.

8. Ramen at Hechikan(丿貫)

Yokohama has countless ramen shops that attract ramen lovers in Japan. If you do not mind being in a line for a long time, I would like to recommend Hechikan. Last time, I went there on Sunday during the lunch time and I waited for a little bit more than 1 hour but it sure is worth it.

Hechikan’s signature ramen, Niboshi Soba, uses gray niboshi based soup and thin noodles with thin sliced medium rare chashu steaks. Niboshi based soup can be a bit bitter but Hechikan’s soup is extremely smooth yet deep in umami. I love their steaks that I usually supersize it. It’s super soft and melts in your mouth.

Also, they always have seasonal Mazesoba with different toppings and sauce so if you like Mazesoba, check that out as well.

7. Yokohama Stadium

Yokohama Stadium is a home stadium for Yokohama Bay Stars.

It’s pretty easy to get tickets, even on the game day (if the game is not a special game). If you are into baseball games, maybe it’s a place for you!

6. Yamashita Park

Yamashita Park is for sure the most well-known park in Yokohama and people not only tourists but also locals come and gather everyday. This huge park has a long deep history. After the Kansai Earthquake, Using debris from the unforgettable disaster, this park was born on the reclaimed land.

In this huge park facing the ocean, you can simply chill on the grass overviewing Yokohama Bay Bridge and ships departing, or even get on one of the cruise departing from the park.

Yamashita Park is walking distance from Chinatown so you can pick up some steam buns to go for a picnic!

5. Shopping in Minato Mirai 21

Minato Mirai 21 is bay area in Yokohama, Naka-ku. It’s not just one building but it includes many shopping facilities like ‘World Portars’, ‘Queen’s Square’, ‘Mark Is Minato Mirai’ and ‘Marine & Walk’. If you try to go all of the shopping centers, you may need more than a day but it sure is one of my favorite shopping area where I can feel the sea breeze while I walk!

4. Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is a historical building made into cultural and commercial facility in 2002. It’s 5-6 minutes walk from Nihon-odori station or Bashamichi station. Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse has 2 buildings - No.1 and No.2. No.1 has a hall for cultural use, and No.2 has more shops and restaurants. In fact, No.1 is smaller than No.2 because half of the building was broke down during the Kanto earthquake.

On weekends and holidays, they usually have fun events where many food stalls gather. You can check the event calendar on the website here.

3. Sushi at Amimoto Izu

If you are looking for inexpensive but good quality sushi in Yokohama, I recommend Amimoto Izu near Yokohama Station. Using fresh fish bought at fish market every morning, Amimoto Izu has been loved by the locals for over 15 years.

It is a conveyer belt sushi, but there’s no sushi going around on the conveyer since they make sushi to order.

I have been to many different conveyer sushi shops and some ends up in the big rice and small fish on top but this spot doesn’t go stingy.

2. Yokohama Chinatown

Chinatown is my favorite food spot in Yokohama! In fact, I did a full video featuring street food in this tasty spot. It is a minute walk from Motomachi/Chukagai station.

Giant steam buns, yaki-shoronpo, Shimaki… There are countless Chinese street food to impress you but what I really love is all-you-can-eat dim sum restaurants. It’s reasonable and there are so many kind of dim sum to choose from. Price are around 3000 yen so it is very reasonable as well!

1. Sky Garden Landmark Tower

Let me tell you my secret. Well, I am telling you now so it is no longer a secret, I guess…

There are several spots where you can check out the amazing view of Yokohama landscape, but Landmark Tower is my recommendation. Why? Because it has a small sky bar! The window seats are limited so you need to either book or go there during the day time when it is not busy.
